As a high-performance functional masterbatch in plastic processing, barium sulfate (BaSO₄) masterbatch is highly recognized for its high gloss, corrosion resistance, density adjustment and cost-saving advantages. Made from high-purity barium sulfate (barite) with stable chemical properties, it optimizes the comprehensive performance of plastic products and is widely used in plates, pipes, packaging and high-end decorative fields. ANGFLY, a professional masterbatch manufacturer, introduces the core features and applications of barium sulfate masterbatch.
BaSO₄ Masterbatch: Core Advantages Beyond Filling
ANGFLY barium sulfate masterbatch is made of high-purity BaSO₄ powder (D50 0.3-3.0μm), carrier resin (PE/PP), high-efficiency dispersants and coupling agents, via professional internal mixing and twin-screw extrusion processes. Unlike pure BaSO₄ powder, it has excellent dispersibility and compatibility with base resins, avoiding agglomeration and ensuring stable processing.
Its key advantages include high gloss and excellent hiding power: it can significantly improve the surface gloss of plastic products, making PP products present an ABS-like high-gloss effect without affecting the inherent properties of the base resin, and reduce the dosage of titanium dioxide by 10% to save costs.
It also has outstanding chemical inertness and corrosion resistance, being insoluble in water, acid and alkali, which can enhance the corrosion resistance of plastic products and extend their service life in harsh environments. Additionally, its high density can realize weight adjustment, which is suitable for noise insulation and weight increment scenarios such as audio enclosures and drainage pipes.
ANGFLY’s BaSO₄ masterbatch features uniform particle size, good fluidity and stable performance, with no white spots or impurities during processing. It is non-toxic, odorless, and certified by SGS, ROHS and FDA, meeting the requirements of food contact and export products.

Professional Applications
Compatible with PP, PE, ABS, PVC and other mainstream resins, and adaptable to injection molding, extrusion, film blowing and other processes, it is widely used in:
1. Plates & Pipes Industry: Extruded plates, decorative panels and corrosion-resistant pipes, enhancing surface finish, corrosion resistance and dimensional stability, suitable for chemical and architectural fields.
2. Packaging & Daily Necessities: High-gloss packaging containers, cosmetic bottles and daily plastic products, improving product appearance grade; food packaging products meeting food-grade standards with safe and stable performance.
3. Special Fields: Audio enclosures (for noise insulation and weight increment), anti-radiation plastic products and high-end decorative parts, giving play to its unique density and stability advantages.
